General Questions

What type of ingredients do you use?
We use only the best ingredients that are hand selected by our bakery staff.  We don’t use any added preservatives in any of our products.

Do you offer any special promotions?
Yes!  Sign up to our email list at the bottom of the page to receive the latest information on sales, new releases and more.  Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram as well!  You may enter coupon or discount codes at the time of checkout. Codes will be applied to your order before payment processing.  Only one code can be entered per order.
 
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.  Your credit card will be charged at the time of purchase and shipped according to the dates you select during checkout.
 
I have a food allergy.  Is it safe to order items from the Bakery?
Penn State Bakery items are manufactured in shared production areas in a facility that uses dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, coconut, soy, wheat, gluten, and sesame. Please exercise caution when deciding to consume these products if you have a food allergy or sensitivities. Questions can be directed to the campus dining dietitians at foodallergies@psu.edu.
 
Who do I contact if I have additional questions or need assistance?

What is the minimum number of days that a Bakery order can be placed? Anything purchased from our website requires a three-business day lead time.

Why can’t I choose the date I want for the item I’m ordering?
Lead time on most items is three to five business days, so orders must be placed in advance.  Items are prepared Monday through Friday, so Saturdays and Sundays are not available to choose as a delivery date.  There are also blackout dates when students and staff are on fall, winter and spring breaks.
 
Where does the Penn State Bakery ship?
We ship to the continental United States only.  Please note only certain items are available for shipping at this time.
 
Is my shipping arrival date guaranteed?
Because we use FedEx as a third-party shipper, we are not able to guarantee arrival dates.  We recommend choosing a ship date 2-3 business days earlier when ordering an item to be shipped so your package arrives in time.

 

On Campus Delivery (University Park Campus)

How does my student receive their treat?

All on-campus student orders are delivered to the commons associated with the student’s residence. The item follows the process listed below once it leaves our facility.

    • Delivered to the commons.
    • Scanned into the student’s eLiving account.
    • Email notifications are sent to the student’s PSU email at 2-hour intervals (ex: item is scanned in at 8:27am email will not be sent until 10am, item is scanned in at 11:00am the email will not be sent until 12:00pm etc.)
    • It is the responsibility of the student to retrieve their item.
    • Unfortunately, any perishables not picked up in three days will be disposed and no refund given.

For pick up orders, your student will receive an email on the date you’ve chosen, giving them instructions to pick up their treat at the Penn State Bakery, located at 196 Housing and Food Services BuildingPlease note, the Bakery is on the outskirts of campus and can be a minimum 30-minute walk from certain areas on campus.  Pick up orders are best suited for individuals able to drive to the Bakery location.
 
Can I order a treat for my student who lives off-campus?
Yes!  All off-campus student orders will be delivered to the Redifer Commons Desk for pick up.  Your student will receive an email on the date you’ve chosen, giving them instructions to pick up their treat.  When placing an order, select ‘Delivery on Campus’ for both on and off-campus student orders.  Orders may also be shipped to students living off-campus.
 
What information do I need to place an order for my on-campus student?
You will need your student’s full name, Penn State email address, room number, residence hall name and cell phone number.  Please note that your students’ item will NOT be delivered to their room, but rather to their residence commons desk area for pick up.  They will be notified via email by the commons desk that they have an item to be picked up.
 
Can orders for Penn State faculty/staff be delivered on campus at University Park?
Yes!  Be sure to note the full address of your on-campus location and time you would like your order delivered.
 
Where is the Penn State Bakery located?

We are located on the University Park Campus of Penn State University in Happy Valley at 196 Housing and Food Services Building, University Park, PA, just off Services Road, next to the Arboretum. We do not currently have a storefront so items for pick up must be pre-ordered and can be picked up on the date selected, Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. only.
